Content Writing For Lawyers, Attorneys, and Law Firms

In order to have an effective web site, your law firm needs to write content that is specific for the web.

Many law firm web sites though use long and boring copy that that merely puffs the firms attributes. They all begin with the long story that some partner met another partner back in the horse and buggy age. While this is nice, it will not gain clients and should not be featured on the front page of the web site, unless the firm is trying to brands its reputation based on its history.

Web users often want quick answers to their questions. When viewing pages, users simply scan pages for text. Thus, content for the web includes shorter paragraphs and the use of more bullet points.

Further to gain traffic to the web site, the firm should strive to provide answers to logical questions that a client, potential client, and/or attorneys would ask. For instance, the web site should provide legal articles on the firm's practice areas, offer downloads, place presentations and seminars online, and keep a current news section for each practice area.

Creating a firm email list is also a great way to increase traffic to the web site and maintain relationships with clients.

There are many ways to create content, but remember that content must be refreshed or the web site will become stale and useless.

Now that you have registered a domain name, completed your web site, wrote the content, integrated your database, found a web host, and customized your web site with stock photography, the last step is to optimize your web sites for search engine ranking.
